WELCOME;

You have stumbled across Three Warnings, a small site/fanlisting for Stephen King's novel The Long Walk. Originally, this was just going to be a fanlisting to this morbidly amazing story, but I found myself compelled to add all of these other sections, which led to it being a shrine as well as a fanlisting.

      ABOUT THE BOOK;

In the near future, a young boy is selected to take the Long Walk - a deadly contest of endurance and determination, in which each step can be your last.

In the near future, where America has become a police state, one hundred boys are selected to enter an annual contest where the winner will be awarded whatever he wants for the rest of his life. The game is simple - maintain a steady walking pace of four miles per hour without stopping. Three warnings, and you're out - permanently.

      THE WALKERS;

Here is a list of the Walkers and how each of them died. They are listed by the number assigned to them on the Walk. Their deaths, if noted, are usually followed by a gunshot, which I figured I didn't need to note since that's how they all end up anyways. Boys whose names or numbers were not noted also suffered from sunstroke, convulsions and fainting, among other things -- one of the main reason always being just slowing under 4mph one too many times.
